Tongue twisters in class

Tongue twisters are a great way to practice and improve pronunciation and fluency.
Sometimes, our students may have trouble pronouncing certain sounds, or discriminating some sounds from others. Tongue twisters are a fun way to give them an opportunity to specifically focus on those problematic sounds for them.

Some examples of tongue twisters:

  • She sells sea shells on the sea shore
  • A proper copper coffee pot
  • Around the rugged rocks the ragged rascal ran
  • Red lorry, yellow lorry, red lorry, yellow lorry
  • A big black bug bit a big black bear
  • Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?
